Spray painted chocolate doubloon coins on a gold background

A pirate’s treasure hoard is a sight to behold, especially if it is Pirate Gold Chocolate Coins.

This is a fun food addition for a pirate themed party and can be customised to use your favourite chocolate but I think a pirate’s favourite kind of chocolate has to be sea salt.

Let’s make some Pirate Gold Chocolate Coins.

Prep Time: 5 mins per batch
Cook / Freeze Time: Chill for 1 hour
Servings: Multiple

Steps:

STEP 1

Break the Sea Salt Dark Chocolate into a heatproof bowl.

STEP 2

Melt in a microwave at 50% heat or place the heatproof bowl in a pot of simmering hot water on a stovetop.

GOOD TO KNOW – Do not boil the water or the chocolate will start cooking and the texture will turn hard.

STEP 3

Get the silicone coin mould and spoon chocolate into each of the coin moulds. Use a skewer or toothpick to push the chocolate into the edges of the mould so that the mould has been completely covered.

Make sure not to overload the moulds otherwise the coins will not sit flat.

STEP 4

Place the mould into the fridge for 30 minutes until the chocolate has temepered.

STEP 5

After 30 mins check if the chocolate has completely tempered.

Then remove the chocolate coins from the mould and place them face up on baking paper.

STEP 6

Spray each of the coins with the Edible Gold Spray Paint.

Then dust each coin with the Edible Gold Glitter Spray.

STEP 7

Return the coins to the fridge for another 30 mins to let the edible gold spray paint set.

Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

STORAGE

Seal the chocolate coins in an air tight container.
